Marketing and Branding are often though of as one and the same but in reality are very different.

Marketing is that ongoing multiplicity of acts of managing and directing the flow of goods or services from the producer to the user. Often taking the form of direct advertising or, in the case of Pattaya, event promotion. Marketing has the distinct advantage that, given the budget is there, results can be achieved a lot faster than branding alone.

Branding is creating an identity, image or look that endures and grows with time.

Branding is therefore just one aspect of marketing but an important one. Not only does a strong brand image make marketing easier (and cheaper?) but building a brand can often be a very cost effective method, especially for businesses on a tight budget.

Branding is especially vital in Pattaya where the competition levels are high in a very small market place. For example, 70 gogo bars and to most new visitors they are all the same. Obviously they are NOT the same but that is the perception. Those with a high level brand image will always attract new visitors - it is then up to the managers to keep them.
